Our United States practice is built on more than a decade of downtown San Diego and Los Angeles high-rise work.

Kor Structural’s United States practice is led by Jim DesRoches, B.A.Sc., P.Eng., PE, who has been the structural engineer on concrete towers throughout downtown San Diego, Los Angeles and Orange County. The work spans residential and mixed-use high-rise, podium and parking structures, and complex urban infill sites.

California’s seismic requirements and review processes demand a level of rigour that suits how we already practise. We work as the architect’s structural partner from early massing studies through permit and construction, on sites where the constraints — fault setbacks, tight parcels, transfer structures — drive the design.
