Rory Beirne
Rory is a Senior Structural Engineer with more than 15 years’ experience in the construction industry, including more than a decade of structural design experience. His background as a Carpenter, in conjunction with his experience as a Structural and Geotechnical Engineer, has allowed him to gain a unique skillset encompassing all aspects of construction from the ground up. His practical approach to design and construction management have resulting in innovative and efficient solutions to some of our more challenging structural projects.
As a structural expert at Kor, Rory has been involved in the design and project management of over 40 projects ranging from single family homes to our most notable high-rise towers. He has extensive experience with reinforced concrete high-rise structures along the Pacific Northwest, coupled with extensive experience in modular steel construction, mid to low-rise steel, and wood-frame developments.
Some of Rory’s recent significant projects include Station Square Sites 2, 3, 5 and 6 in Burnaby BC, Burrard Place in Vancouver BC, Gilmore Place in Burnaby BC, Kings Crossing in Burnaby BC, Addition in Vancouver BC, and The Royal at Mount Royal Village in Calgary AB.
Rory joined the Kor team in 2013 as an EIT and earned his P.Eng. in 2017. He was made a Principal in 2020 and earned both his M.I.Struct.E. and Struct.Eng. designations in 2021. Outside of the office you will find Rory balancing family life with his passion for downhill mountain biking, motocross, surfing, and snowboarding.
