KOR Review Guidelines – Post-Tension Slabs

STANDARD NOTES AND DETAILS, THINGS TO CHECK:

  1. CHECK SIZE, NUMBER AND LAYOUT OF TENDSONS AGAINST SHOP DRAWINGS.
  2. CHECK MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM CHAIR HEIGHTS. TOLERANCE: PLUS OR MINUS 3 MM. CHECK NUMBERS OF CHAIRS AND LOCATIONS. CHECK THAT CHAIRS ARE SECURETLY STAPLED TO FORMS.
  3. CHECK THAT TENDON PROFILES ARE SMOOTH AND FREE OF REVERSE CURVES.
  4. CHECK THAT TENDONS IN HORIZONTAL CURVATURES ARE SPCED 25MM CLEAR
  5. CHECK THAT BURSTING STEEL IS PLACED AT ANCHORS AS PER SHOP DRAWINGS.
  6. CHECK THE U-BAR BURSTING STEEL IS PLACED AROUND TENSIONS IN HORIZONTAL CURVATURES NEAR OPENINGS AND SLAB EDGES AS PER STANDARD
  7. CHECK ANCHOR LAYOUT AGAINST SHOP DRAWINGS. GENERALLY ANCHORS SHOULD BE AT MID-DEPTH OF SLAB.
  8. CHECK THAT TENDONS ARE 75MM MINIMUM CLEAR OF PIPE SLEEVES AND BLOCKOUTS
  9. CHECK THAT ELECTRICAL CONDUIT IS NOT TIED TO TENDONS OR LOCATED NEAR ANCHORS.
  10. CHECK THAT IN-SLAB MECHANICAL DUCTS ARE LOCATED AS PER STANDARD NOTES AND THAT TENDONS HAVE THE SPECIFIED CLEARNANCES TO DUCTS.
  11. IN GENERAL, CHECK FOR CONFLICTS BETWEEN TENDONS, CONDUIT, IN-SLAB DUCTS
  12. DEAD END ANCHORS SHOULD BE WATERTIGHT FORM THE TIME THE TENDONS LEAVE THE PLANT. CHECK THAT GREASE CAPS ARE SECURE AND SHEATHING OR TRUMPETS ARE SECURED SNUG TO ANCHORS.
  13. GENERALLY CHECK SHEATHING FOR TEARS. TEARS WITH NO SIGN OF WATER ENTRY SHOULD BE REPAIRED WITH 2 WRAPS OF APPROVED TAPE.
