KOR Review Guidelines – Footings

STANDARD NOTES AND DETAILS, THINGS TO CHECK:

  1. DO NOT RECIEW SOIL CONDITIONS. ALWAYS STATE ON SITE REPORT AFTER INITIAL FOOTING REVIEW “SOIL BEARING PRESSURE TO BE CONFIRMED BY SOILS ENGINEER”.
  2. MUD SHOULD BE SCRAPED OUT OF FOOTINGS PRIOR TO POUR.
  3. WATER SHOULD BE PUMPED OUT OF FOOTINGS PRIOR TO POUR
  4. CHECK THAT SLOPES UNDER STEPPED WALL FOOTINGS DO NOT EXCEED RATIO SHOWN ON STANDARD DETAILS.
  5. CHECK SIZE OF FOOTING IN PLAN.
  6. CHECK DEPTH OF FOOTING
  7. CHECK SIZE, NUMBER, AND LENGTH OF REINFORCING BARS.
  8. CHECK BOTTOM, SIDE AND TOP CONCRETE COVER TO REINFORCING. BOTTOM MATS SHOULD BE CHAIRED OLN CONCRETE BRICKS.
  9. ALL COLUMN, ZONE, AND WALL DOWELS SHOULD BE PLACED AHEAD OF POUR AND TIED SECURELY TO A TEMPLATE.
  10. CHECK SIZE, NUMBER, AND LENGTH OF DOWELS.
  11. ALWAYS STAND BACK AND VISUALLY CHECK THAT COLUMN DOWELS ARE CENTERED IN FOOTING
  12. ALL FOOTING CONCRETE SHOULD BE MECHANICALLY VIBRATED.
