Full-Time Structural Engineer

We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join Kor Structural (“KOR”) as a full-time Structural Engineer for a wide range of projects. The position offers an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a varied background that includes both technical skills and construction experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare structural design calculations and design details.
  • Create structural analysis models using applicable software.
  • Coordinate designs with Architects and other engineering disciplines.
  • Manage the production of design work and drawings to meet client’s schedules, including coordinating with the drafting team and junior designers.
  • Write technical reports.
  • Perform field reviews when required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural (Masters degree in Structural Engineering preferred).
  • Must be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
  • Working knowledge of the National Building Code, BC Building Code, and seismic design concepts.
  • Proficient in using structural analysis programs such as ETABS, SAFE, spColumn, S-Concrete.
  • Experience doing concrete design, project management, and construction administration of new residential building projects in a Canadian setting.
